Frisco Cares Clinic adds adults

Frisco Cares Children’s Clinic, 6811 Oak Street, will be offering quality health care services to adults beginning Aug. 27. The clinic has been serving uninsured children since 2005.

The clinic will open its doors for patient registration at 5 p.m. and Dr. Mitra Canales, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certified specialist, will begin seeing patients at 6 p.m. Dr. Canales speaks Spanish and Farsi as well as English.

Uninsured adults from Frisco and surrounding areas will be seen for an office visit fee of $10. Prescriptions, if necessary, may be provided free of charge.

Many events lead to National Night Out

The ever popular National Night Out event that neighborhoods and residents of The City of Frisco have come to love and look forward to each year is to be held later this year. This year’s National Night Out for Frisco is set for Oct. 13, which is one week later than the date set for most other Texas cities.

National Night Out festivities begin with a Battle of the Badges blood drive that will run Sept. 23n26 at various locations throughout the city. The annual blood drive matches the city’s finest police and fire departments against one another to see who can donate the most, all going to a charitable cause. The blood drive is followed up by the Green Home, Health & Safety Fair to be held 9-1 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Frisco Athletic Center , 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. The fair is designed to promote safety, education, and awareness within the community.
